Is it time to end the 50% tax rate?

4 September 2011

In April '10, those earning over £150,000 got a new 'top rate' of income tax at 50% & lost other tax gains. The Chancellor, George Osborne, has asked the Revenue to review if it's actually raising extra cash. Pro 50p rate say: Higher earners need to feel the pain too, and can afford to pay more Anti 50p rate say: It disincentivises growth & encourages wealthy to take cash away from the UK. (Find out if you're owed a tax rebate using our Free Tax Code Calculator). Which of these is closest to your view?

We try to use technology to limit voting to one per person. Occasionally, this may erroneously block a few people's votes (eg, from shared offices). Apologies for that.
