UK cheapest multi-region DVD Player:
More price drops in the DVD world and again it's Richer Sounds providing the UK's cheapest player. It has dropped the price of its Acoustic Solutions DVD 321 by another £10.  This means the single region player is now just £39.99 and the multi-region £49.99 (with a £10 extra for a 3 year warranty) or the single region version just £39.99. To read my original Deal on this player – click here.  (note: the price has not yet been updated on www.richersounds.com but is available in stores)

Car Insurance:

A very tough subject for me normally as there's rarely a right answer about the cheapest.  However www.confused.com is possibly an answer, as well as searching other providers it also searches other brokers.  I'm not ready to give it ‘Deal' status yet as I've not fully investigated, but it's well worth a try.  If you do try it – I'd appreciate your feedback on how good the price was compared to others – click here to post a note on it in the chat section.

However there is another trick to play.  One common promise made in car insurance is ‘we'll beat your renewal quote' this is fairly meaningless as many companies offer it and what they don't promise to do is beat ‘any other quote'.  www.egg.com has an interestingly different price promise though - it promises to hold your premiums for this year and next.  This is very useful as car insurance costs are rising heavily year after year – therefore if Egg's quote isn't much more expensive than the cheapest – it's worth going for.

Pension and Repensioning

I've really hit hard on pensions in my last two columns - one on cutting the cost of getting a new stakeholder and personal pensions.  The other is an exclusive idea of mine to ‘repension' – essentially it enables you to get more out of your current pension at no cost and no risk.
