600,000 thank yous! Hiya, the 600,000th person has joined this e-mail's distribution list. Had someone told me that three and a half years ago when I set the site up for £100 I would've wobbled, and flobbled, and fell. Huge thanks to all who've recommended the site, and the amazing contributers to the Forums, which itself now has 100,000 registered.

Please keep telling friends and family about the site. It's starting to cause ripples in corporate Britain, and the more of us, the more the balance of power shifts in consumer's favour! The best way is suggest they join the distribution list for this free e-mail.

Leisure Lolly: Ticket, Bookings, Restaurants and Days Out Cost Cutting. NEW ARTICLE

It's not just touts who aim to push prices up. Agencies, restaurants, theatres, theme parks and cinemas all make you pay as much as they can get away with. This totally new article details websites, strategies and vouchers to get the prices lower than Britney Spears' jeans. New Article: Ticket Cost Cutting

New Top Cashback Deal. Amex Platinum offers 3% cashback for first three months
The American Express Platinum* credit card now pays new cardholders a whopping 3% intro cashback, i.e. for each £100 spent on the card it returns £3. Yet remember the golden rule; only choose a cashback card if you always repay it in full every month, otherwise pick based on the interest rate. Sadly as well as this intro offer, it's also slightly lessened its normal cashback rates, though it's still the top high spenders card (existing customers' rates change in Oct). For full details, and other options read the Updated Article: Best Cashback Cards. (mini-mutterings) Related Articles. Best Balance Transfers, Top Lend for spend

Going on a European holiday? Grab a free Health Insurance card ASAP
The new official European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) extends your rights to free or discounted medical treatment to any EU country. You can order one
online or from the post office (it can take 3 weeks). It's well worth having, yet don't think it's a replacement for travel insurance as it doesn't cover repatriation costs, lost money, baggage or cancellation; it's more of a safety net. Repensioning. Increase your pension fund by £1000s without any risk. NEW ARTICLE.
Existing private pension holders can increase the size of their pension fund by up to 4%, by snatching back the commission you're unknowingly paying. A massive boost at no extra risk. New Article: Repensioning. Related Articles: Pension MoneySaving (mini-mutterings)

The Carol Vorderman Appeal. 86,000 signed the petition, a parliamentary motion, now what?
Two months ago I launched an appeal to ask Carol Vorderman to 'please stop doing adverts for secured loans'. 86,000 signed & 66 MPs signed a similar Early Day Motion, newspapers covered it as did BBC1's Real Story. The response? Similar to her pre-appeal reaction, just lawyers' letters! I'm disappointed, I honestly thought she'd understand why I, and the other 86,000 of you, are so concerned, and would stop. Since she is an intelligent woman I have to conclude that she does understand, and doesn't care. There is little more that can be done. At least the coverage hopefully meant many will've thought twice before taking inappropriate secured loans. HAVE 1 IN 4 REALLY BEEN A VICTIM OF ID FRAUD? POLL: Vote or Discuss. Last week's vote result: Do you file or ignore it? It seems like the majority of you are very organised with over 60% of you checking your bills and filing them. But just because you're organised doesn't make you a good MoneySaver - make sure you pay attention to those bills! See poll results

That's it for this week. Before I go though, thought you might like to go and have a look at the site's Gallery. It's had a tidy up and all the new versions of me that the site designer loves to play about with are in there (it scares the life out of me whenever a new one is due).

I hope you save some money
