Free English Heritage family pass

Valid at 350+ sites. Excludes National Trust locations

Totally free digital pass, if you're quick: Check if you can get a free digital pass by filling out the online form at the Daily Mirror, Daily Express or via regional brands. The free digital pass ends at 11.59pm on Monday 13 October, or when all 54,000 passes have been claimed, whichever's sooner.

When can the pass be used?

This is a one-time family pass that can be used once until Sunday 2 November. Typically, we found that the pass would cost on average £40, but it depends on which site you're visiting.

What does the pass cover?

It allows two adults and up to three children, or one adult and up to four children (or couples or individuals) to visit one English Heritage site for free in England only – residents of England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland can redeem this offer, but you can only visit sites in England. Kids must be 17 or under, though under-fives go free anyway. You can use this any day of the week. Some locations, such as Stonehenge, are excluded – see the full list.

There's nothing to pay for entry, but some car parks charge fees, and this pass doesn't get them for free. One pass per household is permitted.

You'll need to show your pass when you arrive at your chosen English Heritage site, by presenting your email to a team member. You can't pre-book your visit. Mobile coverage may be limited at some English Heritage sites, so it's a good idea to download the pass on your device, or print it. For more details on using your pass, see the English Heritage website.

If you have any queries, you can contact customers@english-heritage.org.uk or marketingpromotions@reachplc.com for assistance. See full offer terms and conditions.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
What the * means above
If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
