Virgin Money has temporarily stopped offering three of its credit card ranges due to "significant demand."

The affected ranges are Virgin Money's Balance Transfer, All Round and Travel cards, which currently cannot be applied for either online or through its contact centres due to recent high demand.

Virgin Atlantic credit cards and prepaid cards are still available as usual, and Virgin Money says existing customers will not be affected.

It cannot give a date for when the cards will be available again, but says they are under review and are expected to return soon.

What does Virgin Money say?

A spokesperson for Virgin Money said: "We regularly review our products to ensure we are offering an appropriate range, taking into consideration the competitive environment and our commercial plan.

"Our credit cards have been incredibly popular recently. Due to the significant demand we have seen, we have removed a number of cards from sale temporarily in order to maintain service levels for our customers."
