Tesco Bank customers' payments delayed – here's what to do

Tesco Bank has apologised to customers after payments made today have been delayed.
The problem is affecting 'Faster Payments' – which are bank transfers that usually happen instantly, but can take up to two hours – on the first day of the month, when many make payments for rent and other bills.
Most customers are reporting that the money appears to have left their accounts, but not arrived in the bank account it was supposed to be transferred to.
If you're affected, make a note of any losses you've incurred as a result of the delay, so that if necessary you can claim cash back.

Several customers have reported problems this morning:
I'm affected – what should I do?
Tesco Bank has said all payments will go through, but has so far been unable to say when the problem will be fixed.
But if you do end up making a late payment and incurring a fee as a result of the delay, take a note and evidence, such as any bill you receive, so you can ask the bank if it will reimburse you.
What does Tesco Bank say?
A Tesco Bank spokesperson said: "Payments are currently taking longer than expected to process and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
"We would like to reassure our customers that any payments they have made will be processed."
