Nectar's BP partnership to end in weeks – but Esso's joining the scheme
Nectar card-holders will no longer be able to collect points at BP garages after 31 May, but they will soon be able to get them at Esso, which is switching to Nectar from the Tesco Clubcard scheme.
BP and Nectar have confirmed their partnership is ending after 16 years. Currently drivers can collect one point per litre on fuel and two points for every £1 spent in a BP shop, but that will end at midnight on 31 May. Any points you collect at BP prior to 31 May will still be spendable via the Nectar scheme after then though.
Meanwhile, Esso is set to end its Tesco Clubcard partnership at the end of May, and join the Nectar scheme from 1 June. You can currently collect one Clubcard point for every £3 spent at Esso.
You'll be able to spend any Clubcard points collected before the Esso change via the Clubcard site as usual.

Don't let loyalty points dictate where you fill up
While the idea of collecting loyalty points every time you spend on fuel may sound appealing, always think of these points as an added bonus – the most important thing is to check you're bagging the cheapest fuel first.
