Got a Mothercare gift card? Today is the final day they can be spent
Mothercare will stop accepting gift cards at the end of the day – if you've got any, use them NOW.
The baby goods retailer went into administration on Friday and is holding closing down sales in stores and online.
It has been accepting gift cards since it went into administration, but a notice on its website now reads: "Gift cards will be an accepted method of payment until midnight tonight. Thereafter gift cards will not be accepted."
When we asked Mothercare's administrator – PwC – earlier this week, it confirmed that stores were still accepting gift cards, but if you want to spend yours in person, it's worth checking closing times online.
If you don't use your gift cards today, they will become unspendable and you'll effectively lose your cash.
It's still not clear how long its website will be running for, so bear this in mind if you're thinking of ordering online. Shopping in a store means you can take the items away with you, whereas if you order online there will be a period of uncertainty while you wait for the items to be delivered.
