Ikea extends £20 gift vouchers given out in annual Christmas tree promotion until April
Ikea shoppers now have longer to make use of £20 gift vouchers that were given out as part of its annual Christmas tree promotion, as the retailer has extended their validity until mid-April. It comes after concerns shoppers can't redeem vouchers as Ikea stores are closed due to coronavirus restrictions.
Under the offer, which we featured on MoneySavingExpert.com, if you bought a £29 real Christmas tree from Ikea in November or December, you were given a £20 voucher to spend in store at Ikea between Monday 18 January and Sunday 28 February.
However, given new coronavirus restrictions were put in place during the promotion, and as the voucher can only be spent in store (and not online), Ikea has extended its validity until Sunday 18 April. Ikea's UK stores are currently only open for customers to pick-up click and collect deliveries.
Ikea has also told us it'll take into consideration any continued or further lockdowns restrictions imposed later down the line, so that people have enough time to redeem their vouchers. Read our Ikea MoneySaving Tips and Hacks blog for further help on cutting costs at the Swedish furniture seller.
Once stores reopen, vouchers can only be spent in certain branches
Once Ikea reopens for browsing and in-store purchases, just remember the vouchers can only be spent in participating stores. Stores not participating are; Greenwich, Manchester, Norwich and Aberdeen collection points, and the planning studio store in Tottenham Court Road, London.
Vouchers can be spent on most items, with a few exclusions including anything bought from the restaurant, Swedish Food Bistro or kitchen planning services. For full details on the deal see our Ikea deals page.
