Thousands of Plusnet customers who have its YouView TV box will lose access to certain channels and features, including BT Sport, from 1 November as the provider is scrapping the service. But those who wish to cancel their TV and broadband contracts now, ahead of the shake-up, can do so penalty-free.

Certain financial services providers will have to prove they are authorised by the financial regulator before advertising on Google from today (6 September). It's an effort by the search engine to tackle online fraud, but the new policy doesn't apply to ads for cryptocurrency or debt services and there are some other exclusions.

From today, rail passengers in England, Scotland and Wales can get personalised updates on their journey from National Rail via WhatsApp. Updates include real-time details of delays, disruption and alternative travel routes. Passengers travelling to or from certain stations may also be able to get a free coffee, newspaper or snack this month when they sign-up to the alerts.

Sky broadband and home phone customers face outages across south east England, Leicester and Wales today, the telecoms provider has confirmed. It adds that it's investigating the problem and is working to restore service as soon as possible.

Nationwide has decided to axe its free European travel insurance offer for all existing FlexAccount  customers who still have it from 31 December. This follows its earlier decision to stop offering the perk to new FlexAccount customers back in December 2016.

Thousands of charities, sports clubs and community groups with HSBC's free Clubs and Community Bank Account face being moved to the bank's new Charitable Bank Account from 1 November. The new account comes with a £5/mth (£60/yr) fee but you can switch to a free charity bank account offered by other providers beforehand to avoid the charge. Here's what you need to know.
