Time to check down the back of your sofas for any soon-to-be-discontinued paper £20 and £50 notes, as the latest figures from the Bank of England show there are £17.6 billion's worth still floating around. But be quick, as there are only a few months left before they become invalid.

Bank customers who are tricked into transferring cash to fraudsters will have more protection from the end of May.

Santander customers with the bank's popular 123 current account will see the interest paid on savings drop to just 0.3% from 12 April. It's the third time the bank has cut the account's rate cut in less than a year and means holders are better off switching.

Barclays is overhauling its monthly Blue Rewards membership scheme in April, which means huge numbers of current account holders who earn £36 a year will instead earn absolutely nothing, while rewards for others will be cut too.

TSB customers have complained that they've been left struggling to pay for food and bills after payments have been wrongly taken twice today (15 March). The bank said it is working to fix the issue, adding that it will refund any duplicate payments taken.

Masthaven Bank is to stop offering personal savings accounts and home mortgages to both new and existing customers over the next two years, it's been announced today (1 February). The provider plans to completely exit these UK markets by the end of 2023 - though there's no immediate change for savers or borrowers.
