Claim after checkout when you spend any amount
They say 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away', but in this case, it's 'an apple a day that's the MoneySaving way...'
If you're shopping with children in a larger Tesco stores, as well as 120 click and collect locations (find your nearest*) they'll be able to pick up a 'free' apple after checkout until Monday 1 June, depending on availability.
There's no minimum spend, you'll just need to make any purchase, as the free fruit can only be claimed from a special stand after you've paid.
An apple normally costs from 44p, so while this isn't a huge saving, it's a nice, healthy freebie.

Bag up to £7.50-worth of Clubcard vouchers
We've a talent for MoneySaving, and we've found an unusual way to boost your Tesco Clubcard points over the next few weeks... You can get 50 FREE Clubcard points each time you vote on ITV talent show Britain's Got Talent.
The incentive launched on Saturday 25 April to mark the show's first live semi-final. If you missed Saturday’s free points, don’t worry as there are still five more live shows throughout May, which means you can get up to 250 Clubcard points (50 per show). It's the equivalent of £2.50 to spend at Tesco, or up to £7.50 with Clubcard Reward Partners (see our Clubcard boosting guide for how to max vouchers).
How it works
It goes without saying, you'll need a Tesco Clubcard. If you don’t have one, you can sign up for a free Clubcard online*.
You'll need to sign up for a free ITV.com account in order to vote. Once voting is open (this is announced during the Britain's Got Talent live programme), you'll need to go to the ITV website to cast your vote – the first time you do this, you'll have to verify your mobile number, even though you're voting online.
You need to cast five votes during each show's voting window. Once you’ve used your votes, you'll be given a link to collect your Tesco Clubcard points. The 50 free points can take up to 48 hours to appear in your Clubcard account.
The free points aren't capped per household. This means if there are two or more account holders in the home, you can all nab the free points.
The Britain's Got Talent live shows will air on the following dates:
-
Saturday 2 May from 7pm
-
Saturday 9 May, time TBC
-
Saturday 17 May, time TBC
-
Saturday 23 May, time TBC
-
Saturday 30 May, time TBC
Can I still get the free points if I don't watch Britain's Got Talent?
Technically yes, you could just vote and bag the points without having to watch the show, although you may have to refresh the page a few times while the show is on the air as the voting window is announced during the live programme.
There's also the moral question as to whether you should vote for talent show acts you haven't seen as it could skew the outcome. You could ask a friend or family member who does watch the show who that night's best acts were.

In larger stores only. Valid on 100+ toys including Disney, Pokémon & more
It's a sale that's always popular with MoneySavers – Tesco is offering 50% off selected toys in larger supermarkets and Tesco Extras (260+ stores, find your nearest*) until closing time on Wednesday 29 April, or while stock lasts.
Tesco told us there are over 100 toys in the sale including pre-school items, dolls, vehicles, plush, action toys, and arts and crafts from brands such as Disney, Pokémon and Star Wars. Of course, what's available will vary by store, and some items may sell out, so it's best to go quick if there's something you want.
Most of the sale is open to all, but Tesco says 35 items are only available if you're a Clubcard member (you can register online for free*).
Here are some examples Tesco told us about:

Throw Throw Avocado – £7.50 (was £15)
-
Star Wars Lightsabre Forge – £8 (was £16)

-
Pokémon Surprise Attack Game – £12.50 (was £25)
-
Disney Princess Doll & Accessories – £20 (was £40)

Tesco may not always be cheapest for everything, even during a sale, so be sure to check prices elsewhere before buying, including 50% off selected toys at The Entertainer.
Available all year. In store only
You can get school uniform items (ages 3-16) from £4 at Tesco, in stores and online (find your nearest*). Some sizes may be running low in stock, so there's no guarantee you'll be able to get what you're after.

What can you get?
-

-
3x polo shirts - from £4.50

Discounts on homeware, electricals & toys
If you go online to Tesco's eBay outlet*, you can get discounts on a range of items, including homeware, electricals and children's toys. It sells both new items and customer returns – all refurbished items are clearly marked.
Unfortunately, you can't collect Clubcard points via the Tesco outlet.
Incl using supermarket coupons and tracking offers
There are always ways to save money at Tesco so even if there isn't a cracking deal out there that works for you, don't assume you can't cut your costs further.
Ways to save include:
-
Supermarket coupons. Make sure you check out our supermarket coupons page to save on your shopping.
-
Take the Downshift Challenge. The phrasing and language used in shops hypnotises us into thinking the most costly is best. While the packaging looks more opulent, look beneath it and sometimes you won't be able to tell the difference (often it's even made in the same factory). Take our Downshift Challenge.
-
Track if it's really a bargain. Most of us know just because a supermarket lists an item as "on offer", that doesn't mean it's cheap. The trouble has been sorting awesome offers from poor promos.
-
Time trips right to bag huge yellow sticker discounts. If you spot a yellow sticker discount - fantastic. Grab it and use it quickly as it's a saving on perfectly good nosh. See when Tesco normally reduces its produce in our Cheap Supermarket Shopping guide.
-
Check out similar retailers, eg, Asda, Sainsbury's and the other major supermarkets. If you're not committed to buying from Tesco, check out our deals from Asda, Aldi, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Lidl and Waitrose, where they may have a better offer.
-
Try haggling. We polled 1,400 MoneySavers to find out in which shops hagglers have most success. Supermarkets did feature, so it's worth a go. Find out more in our Haggle on the High Street guide.

Had a problem with Tesco? There’s a free online tool you can use to complain – it helps draft, manage and if necessary escalate your complaint. It’s offered by a firm called Resolver, which we like so much we work with it to help people get complaints justice – you can use it to complain to Tesco*.
If you spot any hot deals out there we have missed (we are human after all!), please let us know in the MSE forum, email us at msedeals@moneysavingexpert.com or via Twitter @MSE_Deals.
FREE brew and biscuit at Tesco*
No purchase needed. At 10 stores (mostly England)
Fancy a freebie? Tesco has brewed up a tea-mendous initiative called ‘Park & Pause’ – where it gives out one hot drink and one biscuit for free at 10 selected stores on Saturday 11 April.
The scheme is aimed at parents who need a moment of peace. To claim your cuppa, you’ll need to drive to one of the following Tesco stores between 8am and 4pm and park in one of the designated spaces where you can order your brew and biccie:
-
Cardiff Culverhouse Cross Extra (Wales)
-
Coventry Walsgrave Superstore
-
Leeds Seacroft Extra
-
Musselburgh Extra (Scotland)
-
Newcastle Upon Tyne Extra
-
Nottingham Top Valley Extra
-
Portsmouth Extra
-
Royston Extra
-
Southport Extra
-
Wembley Extra
You can order one of the following hot drinks:
-
Tesco Finest English Breakfast Tea
-
Tesco Finest Decaf Earl Grey Tea
-
Tesco Finest Intenso Barista Style Coffee
-
Tesco Finest Decaf Americano Barista Style Coffee
You'll either be able to get a Tesco digestive biscuit or a Tesco Free From shortbread.
Tesco told us hot drinks are for parents only, but there will be a small selection of soft drinks for younger children while stock lasts. This deal can only be claimed if you’ve driven to the supermarket, and you can only redeem it once.
This is a good deal if you’re going to be shopping at one of these stores on Saturday but given the price of petrol we don’t think it’s worth going out of your way to get to one.
Fancy another freebie? Ben & Jerry’s 'Cone Day' is returning for another year on Tuesday 14 April at five selected stores across the UK. See more food & drink deals.

And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
What the * means above
If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
