M&S launches 25p discount for customers who bring their own lunchbox
Marks & Spencer customers who buy fresh food at its Market Place counters will be given a 25p discount if they bring their own reusable containers.
Market Places are available in city centre shops and serve food to take away such as fresh salads, rotisserie chicken and fish.
More than 70,000 people buy lunch from the Market Places each week, which are currently in 23 stores including London Pantheon on Oxford Street, Newcastle, Norwich and Manchester.
Food is usually served in single-use containers – which are widely recyclable – but from today, customers will get a discount if they bring their own containers. M&S is also selling a range of containers from £4 at the counters.
M&S already offers a 25p reduction on hot drinks if customers get them in reusable cups – an initiative introduced in April 2018.
