Pret a Manger launches its first-ever loyalty scheme

Customers who receive 10 stars as part of 'Pret Perks' will be able to choose a free reward - from popcorn to vegan cookies. You'll have up to 30 days after earning 10 stars to collect your free gift.

The scheme is currently only available to those who pay £20/mth as part of the Pret Coffee Subscriber scheme, however, the retailer says it expects to open it up to all customers by the end of 2022.

How does Pret Perks work?

Here are the need-to-knows:

• Customers will earn a star every time they spend money in store or online. One star is earned per transaction in store and through click and collect orders. Customers will need to scan their Pret Coffee Subscribers QR code on their app to add stars. There's no minimum spend to earn a star, so we're checking  if you could split your order into multiple transactions to earn more stars - we'll update this article when we know more. 

• Pret Coffee subscribers will also earn a star for every month they renew their subscription. This star comes on top of those they can earn per transaction. 

• After receiving 10 stars, customers can choose a free reward. Freebies could include food, such as popcorn or cookies, and these rewards will be tailored to what you usually buy - although Pret couldn't give us any further details or examples. It would only add that the more you shop at Pret, the more the rewards will be tailored to your preferences. Although you may find you're offered something you haven't purchased before during the first few months of the scheme.

• You'll have 30 days to collect your free gift after earning 10 stars. Any longer than this and you'll lose out and need to start collecting again. You won't, however, need to make an additional purchase to redeem your freebie.
