Protecting and expanding access to cash and other essential banking services – such as affordable credit – must be a priority for the next Government, according to a new report published today (17 June). The Financial Inclusion Commission (FIC), the independent body of experts behind the report, also calls for more financial education – an issue MoneySavingExpert.com (MSE) has long campaigned on.

Smart home tech provider Hive has admitted it's aware of a problem that's seen some customers unable to connect their electric vehicle (EV) chargers to the Hive app. While you CAN still charge your car if you're affected, you CAN'T use the app's features, such as scheduling to charge your car when it costs less. The fault also means you can't easily track how much you're spending on charging your vehicle.

App-based bank Chase has launched a new table-topping 5.1% AER interest savings account for both new and existing customers. It follows a similar move earlier this year – though this time round, MORE customers can get it. Chase has also announced that it will axe the 1% interest paid on money held in its current accounts from 5 August – though it'll still remain one of our best buys due to its other perks.
