Merry Christmas to all MoneySavers.

After all the hype, lights and rush, it's nearly here. Season's greetings and Merry Christmas from the MSE team and I. As most people are focused on eating not talking turkey right now, this is a shorter e-mail...

The holiday season's sadder side. While jolly for most, this time of year leaves others depressed, scared and lonely. Money, especially debt worries, play a big part. If you're anxious there are resources to help. Also if you've friends or family who may be worried, please pass this on.

  • Debt worries. The Problem Debt Help guide includes a step-by-step checklist of what to do, and details of the free, non-profit debt counsellors.

  • The Samaritans. If you're struggling to cope emotionally, the Samaritans can help: call on 08457 90 90 90. Don't think "it's money issues so I can't call", they're fully geared up to help.

  • Celebrate in the Forum. Even on Xmas day the Forums are busy. Feel free to pop in, to discuss moneysaving or just join the welcoming throng in the MoneySavers' Arms virtual pub.

The MoneySaving calendar. The next e-mail will be on Weds 31 Dec, but if you've time over the break, why not prepare for the new year with the free Budget Planner then give yourself a Money Makeover?
