Npower has become the last of the big six energy providers to cut its electricity prices. However, it is not cutting its gas prices.

The energy giant is reducing electricity costs by an average 8% from Tuesday, 31 March. It says an averagecustomer’s electricity bill will fall by £43.

The cuts are on some but not all its tariffs. Anyone on Npower's popular Sign On-line 14 tariff will not see a drop, for example. Martin’s view: “This confirms now is the time to switch. Given all of the major energy firms have lowered their prices it means you have a level playing field with which to do a proper comparison. But it is worth knowing these prices may not yet all be on the price comparison sites just yet.”
