Boots launches 'Everyday' range with essentials for less than £1.50 - here's how it stacks up

Boots has launched an 'Everyday' range aimed at providing essentials to those on a budget. Items available include toothpaste, shampoo and sanitary products for less than £1.50 each. However, you should still compare prices elsewhere as it's not always cheapest. Here's what you need to know.
The high street retailer's new range launched today (7 September) and is available in all of Boots's UK stores and online via its website. Everything in the 60-product range costs less than £1.50, for example, night-time sanitary pads cost 70p, hand soap costs 80p, and shower gel is 85p.
Unlike its recently launched 'Price Advantage' initiative - which gives Boots Advantage card holders discounts on certain products - you don't need to be a card holder to get the Everyday prices.
See our Boots Advantage Card tips for more info on how the loyalty scheme works and how to boost your points. You can also check out our Eight Boots tips and tricks guide.
How Boots's 'Everyday' range compares to Savers and Superdrug
Here's how Boots's new range compares with the price of the same sized own-brand items (or similar branded items where branded versions are not available) at key competitors' Superdrug and Savers.
Product and size (i) | Price at Boots | Price at Savers | Price at Superdrug |
---|---|---|---|
Face wipes (25-wipe pack) | £1 | 75p | £1 |
Hairspray (300ml) | £1.50 | £1 | £1.49 |
Mouthwash (500ml) | £1.30 | £1 | £2.13 |
Shampoo (500ml) | 75p | £1.49 | £2.99 |
Shower gel (250ml) | 85p | 89p | 49p |
Toothpaste (100ml) | £1 | 95p | £1.99 |
(i) Where possible, we've compared own-brand products like-for-like, however where there isn't an own-brand equivalent at the same size or quantity, we've compared the cheapest branded product at the same size or quantity.
Boots shoppers can also get discounts on branded items with an Advantage card
If you're a Boots Advantage card holder, you can get up to a 50% discount on certain own-brand products just by swiping your card at the in-store till - these items change on a monthly basis. If you shop online and are logged into your Boots account, if any of the products you're buying are included in the 'Price Advantage' that month, you'll also automatically get the money off.
Boots says it makes it easy for shoppers to spot which products are part of the scheme, with every store marking the discounted items with a pink tag - so keep your eyes peeled. These will also be marked with a pink tag online.
We've asked Boots if Advantage card discounts will be available on its new Everyday range and we'll update this story when we know more.
If you aren't already a Boots Advantage member, you can sign up for free by either downloading the Boots app and signing up to the Advantage Card digitally, or by subscribing for a Boots Advantage card in-store.
