Which NatWest and RBS branches are closing from 2025? Here's the full list – and banking alternatives
NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), which are both part of the NatWest Group, will shut at least 108 of their bank branches in 2025 and beyond, after the Group announced a further 52 NatWest closures.
Below, we've rounded up the planned closures for each brand and what the alternatives are if you still want face-to-face banking. Click on your bank's name for a full list of the branch closures announced so far:

NatWest – 52 more branches closing (106 in total).

Alternative ways to bank face-to-face with NatWest, RBS and Ulster Bank

See if there's a 'mobile branch' near you. This can be used for banking services, including making deposits and withdrawing cash. You can find out where your nearest mobile branch is, or when it will next be in your area, on the NatWest website, the RBS website or the Ulster Bank website.
Though be warned that mobile services are still subject to change in future. NatWest has announced that in addition to the new permanent branch closures, it is also stopping its mobile branch service in three locations in Wales; Abergele, Prestatyn, and Welshpool. -
Check if you can use one of the Group's sister bank branches. NatWest customers can use RBS branches, while RBS customers can use NatWest branches for everyday banking, such as cash deposits, withdrawals and paying in cheques – find your nearest RBS branch or find your nearest NatWest branch.
There are no NatWest or RBS branches for Ulster Bank customers to use in Northern Ireland.

Try a nearby Post Office. Customers of all three brands can withdraw cash and make deposits into their bank account via the Post Office.

If you need branch access and don't have alternative services nearby, consider switching
If you no longer want to stay with NatWest, RBS or Ulster Bank, you might want to consider switching to a bank that does have a local branch nearby – although bear in mind there's no guarantee that too won't close.

First Direct – get a free £175 for switching, plus up to a £25 bonus, access to a 7% regular saver, fee-free spending overseas and a £250 0% overdraft. To get the free cash, you can't have ever had any account with First Direct, and you can't have had an account with HSBC since January 2018.
First Direct doesn't have any branches of its own, but First Direct customers can use HSBC branches to pay in cheques, as well as deposit and withdraw cash. So, it could be an option if you have an HSBC branch nearby. HSBC pledged in August 2024 not to close any further branches until at least 2026. -
TSB Spend & Save – get a free £100, plus £15 a month cashback for six months, plus a choice of an extra reward in January 2026. To get the free cash, you can't have had a switch bonus from TSB since 1 October 2022.

Nationwide FlexDirect – get a free £200, plus 5% interest on up to £1,500, 1% cashback for 12 months, a 6.5% regular saver, and 0% overdraft on up to £50. To get the free cash, you can't have switched to a Nationwide account, or have received switch cash from Nationwide, since 18 August 2021 AND you must already be a Nationwide customer.
Nationwide pledged in 2019 to keep all of its current bank branches open until at least the start of 2028. -
Santander Edge – get a free £180, 6% easy-access savings, 1% bills cashback and a top overseas debit card. To get the free cash, you can't have ever had a switch bonus from Santander
