Amazon has shelved plans to stop people using Visa credit cards to buy items on the shopping platform from 19 January. It means users no longer need to update their payment details, although they can continue to do so in order to be awarded free credit.

It comes after another challenging year for firms providing essential services amid the continuing pandemic. But you should still complain to retailers to get them to apply pressure on delivery firms when they fail to deliver.

Shoppers have just one week to go before Amazon stops accepting Visa credit cards to purchase items on 19 January. However, those with a Visa credit card set as their default payment, or those who only have a Visa credit card in their Amazon wallet, may be able to get a free £10 or £20 account credit if they update their details now.

You can now trade-in used smartphones and consoles on Amazon in return for vouchers to spend at the online retailer. It's an expansion of the scheme, which has until now only been available on Amazon's own brands, such as Echo, Kindle, and Ring.
