Some loved-up couples have been left frustrated after major flower firm Serenata cancelled a number of Valentine's Day orders at the last minute.

Consumers who buy gift cards or vouchers for themselves or as a Christmas present have been urged to double-check the stability of the retailer before splashing out, to minimise the risk of losing cash.

Consumers with gift cards for retailers Habitat and Jane Norman are being urged to use them as soon as possible, as they'll soon be invalid.

Consumers could face losing their cash if they have unfulfilled orders with stores such as Moben, after the owners filed for administration.
