Lloyds Banking Group has announced a further round of branch closures, with 28 more outlets being shut across the UK between August and November this year. The closures are made up of 20 Lloyds Bank branches and eight Halifax outlets.

Lloyds and Bank of Scotland customers will earn less interest on Club Lloyds and Vantage accounts from October.

Lloyds Banking Group has announced another round of branch closures, with a further 60 being shut across the UK. The closures are made up of 24 Lloyds branches, 19 from Bank of Scotland and 17 from Halifax.

A Lloyds account holder was wrongly declared dead by the high street bank after data from the death notification service was misread by the lender, resulting in the customer having his account closed and his direct debits cancelled.

Lloyds Gold, Platinum and Premier packaged bank account holders who use the services for free will have to pay between £15 and £28 to keep their accounts from October. For some, this fee will be taken automatically, so you need to act before 1 September if you don't want to pay. 

About 350,000 Halifax, Lloyds and Bank of Scotland home insurance customers who had a policy between 2009 and 2017 have been paid an average of £38 each in compensation, after the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) found they were sent misleading renewal letters.
