Workers will find it easier to build up their retirement pots, as the Government plans to ease rules around its new pension scheme.

From Monday, up to 11 million workers will start to be automatically enrolled into a workplace pension.

"Complicated" restrictions on the Government's scheme to support the millions of workers who will be automatically placed into workplace pensions must be removed to ensure its success, MPs warned today.

The pensions landscape will undergo major change over the coming months with the first set of new plans set to be implemented in April.

The Government has confirmed savers who join its new pension fund from 2012 will have to pay a premium for up to two decades to cover set-up costs.
