MSE Blagged

Download and listen to/read offline via the BookBeat app

BookBeat is a digital subscription service with over one million audiobooks and e-books, and if you're new to it, you can go via our MSE Blagged link* by 11.59pm on Tuesday 11 March to try it out for free. You can listen to/read up to 40 hours over the 90 days – this is the longest trial BookBeat offers.

If you decide to continue after the 90 days, this deal also gets you 5% off for your first 180 days' paid subscription.

Important: You'll need to enter your payment details when signing up, and after your free 90 days are done, you'll automatically be enrolled into a paid subscription, unless you cancel. A subscription currently costs £6.99, £10.99, or £17.99 a month depending on which plan you choose (you'll need to pick one when signing up), and our link reduces it to £6.64, £10.44, or £17.09 a month for the first 180 days.

If you don't want to continue after the free trial... you can cancel via the app or the BookBeat website* – BookBeat says you can do this up until 11.59pm on the final day of your trial (see your first billing date in the 'Account' section of the app), though to be safe, it's best to do this at least a couple of days before. Do note though, when you cancel you lose access immediately, so don't do it too early – diarise to do it towards the end of your trial, or when you've used up your 40 hours.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
What the * means above
If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
