If you click a link with an * to go through to a provider, we may get paid. This usually only happens if you get a product from it. This is what funds our team of journalists, and keeps us free to use. Yet there are two crucial things you need to know about this.
- This never impacts our editorial recommendations – if it's in, it's in there because we independently rate it best.
- You'll always get as good a deal (or better) than if you went direct.

Dine Club free two-month membership
Gets up to 50% off at 6,000 restaurants. Can be combined with Eat Out to Help Out
ExpiredFoodies, this one's for you. If you visit restaurant discount provider Dine Club via our MSE Blagged link*, you can get a 60-day membership for free (norm £10ish). It gets you 10%-50% off at 6,000 restaurants across the UK and, this month, membership is even more MoneySaving because it can be stacked with the Government's 'eat out to help out' scheme. The Dine Club offer ends at 11.59pm on Mon 31 Aug.
After the 60 days, unless you cancel, the membership automatically rolls onto an annual subscription at £19.99 (norm £50ish/year). It will keep renewing yearly at about the same discounted price, though it may fluctuate in line with any Dine Club pricing changes.
Warning: You must cancel within the 60 days if you don’t want to be charged for a full year. You can cancel anytime by emailing enquiries@dineclub.co.uk or calling 01273 668831 (Mon-Fri 9am-5.30pm) - just quote your membership number.
With the Government's 50% off food and non-alcoholic drinks scheme in full swing, a Dine Club membership can help you save even more with certain chains and independents. Not all 'eat out to help out' participants are partnered with Dine Club and vice versa, but there is some crossover, eg, you could visit a Carluccio's on a Mon-Wed and get 20% off food via Dine Club, then a further 50% off all food and soft drinks with 'eat out to help out'.
What is Dine Club?
Membership to Dine Club opens up discounts at thousands of restaurants, including big chains and lots of local independents. The discounts vary from 2for1 mains or 50% off food to 25% off your total bill including drinks. While offers are available seven days a week, some places exclude Fridays, weekends and bank holidays. So if you were planning on trying to use your Dine Club discount on the Monday bank holiday (31 Aug), the last day of the 'eat out to help out' scheme, make sure to call ahead to find out if both discounts will be accepted.
Before you sign up, check for participating restaurants in your area to make sure it’s worth joining. Don’t assume Dine Club will always have the best discount for your chosen eatery – see our restaurant deals round-up for what else is available.
As an additional bonus, membership gets you access to Dine Extras and Dine Delights - discounts on selected cinema trips, courses and attractions.
How do I use it?
As soon as you’ve signed up, you'll be able to use the Dine Club app, free via the App Store and Google Play. Unfortunately, with this deal there’s no alternative if you don’t own a smartphone - you'll only receive a physical membership card if you continue onto the annual membership. To redeem the discount, you must book in advance and let the restaurant know you're a Dine Club member, then simply show your app when you pay.
With the news that many restaurants will be passing on the recent VAT cut to customers, now's a good time for stacking deals and making a saving on dining out.
