If you sign up via this MSE Blagged Coffee Club link* by 11.59pm on Saturday 30 September, you can get a free 30-day membership (normally £2.99 a month). It gives access to 25% off most barista-made drinks for drink-in or takeaway any day of the week at more than 2,500 coffee shops across the UK such as Caffè Nero, Black Sheep Coffee and lots of independents – find your nearest*. The freebie's available to new Coffee Club subscribers only.

For the majority of coffee shops, the 25% off only applies to standard-size drinks (larger drinks are not included in the offer). Additional shots, iced drinks, milk alternatives aren't included either. See full exclusions in 'More info' below.

Important: You’ll be asked to enter payment details when you sign up as you'll be automatically enrolled into a paid-for membership at the discounted price of 99p a month (normally £2.99 a month) after the 30-day free trial, unless you cancel.

If you decide not to stay with Coffee Club, you can cancel your membership online* at any time during the trial. Coffee Club says you won't be charged as long as you cancel by 11.59pm the day before your free trial expires, but it would be a good idea to do it before then just in case.

How to get it

Create a Coffee Club account online via our Blagged link*. Once registered, download the Coffee Club app (for Apple or Android) and sign in. You can't get this as a physical card – this is a digital app membership only.

Find your your local participating coffee shops listed on the app, then simply tap 'Use Card' when you're at the till point to display a QR code which is scanned by the barista.

Drinks per day are unlimited, though for Caffè Nero you're restricted to two visits per day – but the number of drinks that can be purchased during those two visits are unlimited.

  When using Coffee Club membership at Caffè Nero, the 25% off is valid on any size barista-made hot and cold drinks, including: espresso, latte, cappuccino, flat white, cortado, mocha, hot chocolate, tea, iced americano, iced latte, iced cappuccino, milkshakes, frappes, smoothies and lemonades. It excludes speciality coffee blend, syrups, additional shots and alternative milks.
  
  When using Coffee Club membership at all other coffee shops, the 25% off applies only to standard-size hot drinks. This is unlimited and valid daily. Additional shots, iced drinks, alternative milks and larger sizers are not included.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.

And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100.
