Heartier logoSOLD OUT: £55 Xmas turkey bundle (norm £95)*Free-range. Feeds 10-12. Bronze turkey, chipolatas, bacon etc

3 days left

MSE Update 9.35am Wed 13 Dec: The turkey bundles were very popular with MoneySavers and have now sold out. Heartier is offering a similar discount on a goose bundle via the same link. However, this hasen’t been verified by MSE, so you’ll have to do your own price comparisons if you're interested.

Feeding a family at Christmas can cost a fortune so DON'T feel the need to 'upshift' just because it's the festive season.

Supermarket and butchers often have decent deals on their standard ranges, however, we know many want to push the boat out - so we've managed to blag a posh turkey and meat deal to cut the cost.

How to get the deal

Go via this link to meat supplier Heartier* (formerly Market Porter) - the MSE Blagged code TURKEYMSE should be automatically applied - and you'll get £40 off one of its bronze turkey bundles. You can choose from a classic turkey bundle to feed 10-12 for £55 (norm £95, 870 available), including a 5kg-6kg turkey, or a large bundle to feed 14-16 for £67.50 (norm £107.50, 430 available), including a 6kg-7kg turkey. It's all free-range, outdoor-bred and reared UK meat.

The offer ends at 11.59pm on Mon 18 Dec or when all bundles go, whichever's sooner. Sadly it can't deliver to all postcodes, see 'more info' below.

It will deliver them for free either on 20 Dec, 21 Dec or 22 Dec (you choose which date). The turkey will arrive in a thick, transparent turkey bag and the rest will be individually vac-packed. It will all be couriered directly from its producers in a recyclable box with ice packs to keep it cold and fresh for at least 48 hours. It will come with a shelf life of at least until Boxing Day.

What's included?

We've listed what you'll get below, as well as the price you'd pay for the closest supermarket equivalent we could find on Tue 5 Dec:

  • 5kg-6kg East Anglian bronze turkey feeding 10-12 - £60.50 for 5.5kg turkey at M&S
  • OR 6kg-7kg turkey feeding 14-16 - £68.75 for 6.25kg turkey at M&S

Plus ALL of the following:

  • 454g pork chipolatas - £3.29 for 375g at Waitrose
  • 454g pork sausage meat - £3.49 for 400g at Ocado
  • 350g streaky bacon - £7 for 368g at Sainsbury’s
  • 150g Cambridgeshire goose fat - £3.95 for 160g at The Food Market (free-range not available at supermarkets)
  • Recipe booklet with Christmas timings
  • Traditional analogue meat thermometer - £3.99 at Amazon
  • £10 off £40 Heartier voucher - valid until Wed 28 Feb

So these boxes bought separately elsewhere would (very roughly) cost at least £82ish plus delivery for the smaller box and £90ish plus delivery for the larger box. Plus it's worth noting that delivery can cost up to £10 at supermarkets over Christmas and you'd need to meet minimum spends online - so we reckon this deal is worth having a butchers at.

We’ve covered this deal for the past two years and there haven't been any problems with deliveries arriving in time for Christmas. If you’ve any queries, you can call Heartier on 0208 706 0025 or email hello@heartier.com. Opening hours are 9am-5pm weekdays.

MSE Tom says:

Feedback from MoneySavers who've got his deal in previous years:

"Everything, from the delivery onwards, was absolutely top notch" - Marianne.

"Fantastic turkey - one of the best we have had" - Sarah.

Section 75

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.

And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
