Extra 35% off 'past-best-before' health food etc

Code for already-reduced but safe-to-use products, eg, £4.21 Kind dark choc bars x12

    Expired

You can get an extra 35% off everything online at discounted health products retailer Love Health Hate Waste* when you enter the MSE Blagged code MSE35 at the checkout until 11.59pm on Sun 1 Aug. Delivery's from £4.99 (under 2kg via Royal Mail) or from £7.99 (over 2kg) depending on weight.

The products, which include vitamins, protein powders and health foods, are beyond their best-before dates but are still safe to use.

Examples of branded products we found using the code on Tue 27 Jul include:

    • £4.21 (35p each) Kind dark chocolate nuts & sea salt bars, 12x40g – next cheapest we found £12 (£1 each) at Amazon
    • £2.93 (49p each) Mothergrain quinoa wholegrain, 6x250g – next cheapest we found £13.51 (£2.25 each) at Amazon
    • £6.11 (51p each) Amisa organic buckwheat crispbread, 12x120g  next cheapest we found £22.99 (£1.92 each) at Dolphin Fitness
    • £28.08 (£4.68 each) Pure Gym lean whey protein strawberry flavour, 6x750g  next cheapest we found £77.34 (£12.89 each) at Amazon

These examples are only a flavour of what's available – there's no guarantee you'll find the same items as we have, as due to the clearance nature of the site, stock is limited and what's available changes frequently.

    IMPORTANT: 'best-before' vs 'use-by'

While 'use-by' dates are an important health warning, 'best-before' is just a manufacturer's guidance of quality. It's perfectly legal to sell goods beyond a best-before date. However, as there's no hard-and-fast rule on how far beyond a best-before it's still safe to eat products, you need to make that call yourself. Look and smell are often the best indicators.

What is Love Health Hate Waste?

It sells mostly out-of-date or close-to-expiry (but safe-to-eat, drink, or use) health products at up to 90% off their normal price – think of it as a mix of Approved Food and Holland & Barrett.

Previous feedback we've had has been largely positive, including MoneySaver Jenny, who said: "As children of health food shopkeepers who grew up on stuff that was past its best-before date, Love Health Hate Waste is a perfect site for me and my sisters. Thanks MSE"
