ExpiredMyTaxi is the new-ish version of what used to be Hailo - a free app for ordering black cabs. While Uber's London fate hangs in the balance, MyTaxi is offering users 50% off all London journeys (that's within the M25) from 5pm on Fridays to 11.59pm on Sundays, until Sun 5 Nov.
The app helps you order one of 17,500 black taxis in London and, much like Uber, it sends a taxi straight to you. Normal fares are the same as if you were to hail a black cab on the street, the main difference being you'll pay via your registered card on the app. This offer doesn't apply to cash payments.
How to get 50% off your journey
1. If you don't yet have the MyTaxi app (you'll need to download it even if you've previously used the Hailo app, which will now be redundant), download it for free - with Android or iOS - and register your details.
2. You can then book your taxi - the full-price will initially show up on the app, but the discount will be applied automatically at the end of your journey, and the discounted amount charged to your registered card.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100.
