Sassy Bloom is a gift box subscription service, aimed at expectant mums and those with babies up to 24 months. Each box contains a selection of baby products, such as clothes, toys and bottles, tailored to the baby's age, gender and stage of development.

Usually they cost £29 each, but we've blagged MoneySavers a deal to get a box for £9 via a subscription (that you can cancel). As that can be a bit of a pain, we've also arranged a second deal with no subscription that gets you a one-off gift box for £19.

Option 1: £9 box via a subscription

Go via this Sassy Bloom* link and select the 'Get Sassy Monthly' option. Use the code MSE20 by Sun 7 Dec and you'll get your first box for £9. If you don't want to continue your subscription, you can cancel after the first month. You'll need to wait until your box has arrived, and cancel before the 15th day of the following month.

Option 2: £19 one-off box - no subscription

If you just want one box, and you're not sure you'll remember to cancel, you can get a one-off gift box for £19. Go via this Sassy Bloom* link and select the 'One-off Gift Sassy Box'. Use the code MSE10 by Sun 7 Dec at the checkout.

What do the boxes contain?

You input your baby's age (or specify unborn) and the box's contents are selected accordingly on your behalf. We did some price comparisons on three different boxes and found the contents of the box amounted to £36-£53, depending on the age of your baby.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.

And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100.
