Virgin Atlantic Black Friday 'up to £200' off holidays

Plus money off selected long-haul flights

Airline Virgin Atlantic has launched its Black Friday sale, which will last until 11.59pm on Monday 2 December. It's advertising various savings on flights, hotels and package holidays.

When the offers are stacked, it says you can shave up to £200 off your holiday.

Here are some deal examples we spotted when we checked on Friday 29 November:
- Save £25 per person on ALL flight and hotel bookings travelling before Wednesday 31 December 2025
- Plus get an extra £100 off per booking when you spend £3,500+ per couple, or £4,400 for a family of four
- It's offering deals on certain long-haul flights. You can save an extra £60 per adult and £45 per child when flying to Orlando, Tampa or the Caribbean
- Get your third night 'free' and your resort fee waived at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas for stays before 30 September 2025
Important: Don't allow yourself to get caught up in the Black Friday hype, and only ever buy what you need and can afford. Always do your own price comparisons to ensure you’ve found the best deal – don't just take a retailer's word for it.

Secret Sales 'up to 85% off everything'

Deep discounts on big brands but many items the same price or cheaper elsewhere

If you go to online outlet Secret Sales*, you can get 'up to 85% off' in its Black Friday sale. Delivery's £2.99, or free on orders of £50 or more.

Despite some deep discounts, we found that Secret Sales was frequently either price-matched or beaten by other retailers, so make sure you do your own price comparisons before you buy.

What does ‘up to 85% off everything' mean?
- Min discount we saw: 3%
- Max discount we saw: 96%
- Typical discount based on 10 random items: 43%
What is the discount based on: The Advertising Standards Agency has previously stated that at least 10% of items should be available at the 'up to' price.

Here's what we saw on Thursday 28 November:
- River Island Womens Blazer Grey Velvet Sparkle Tux* – £10 (was £85). Same price from River Island on eBay
- Angel & Rocket Renee White Border Print Ruffle Dress* – £19 (was £38). CHEAPER at John Lewis for £14
- Coast Textured Floral Jacquard Bias Cut Midi Dress* – £23.80 (was £119). Same price at Coast
- Coach Coin Wallet in Sport Calf* – £79 (was £225). CHEAPER at Coach for £71.20
Important: Don’t allow yourself to be taken in by the hype around Black Friday and be sucked into buying something you don’t need or can’t afford. Always do your own price comparisons to ensure you’re getting the best deal – don’t just take a retailer’s word for it.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.

And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100.
