ATM-finding app will now show you your nearest post office too

With free cash machines disappearing, there's a handy tool to let you find nearby ATMs where you can withdraw cash for free – and it'll now also show you thousands of Post Office branches where you can take cash out over the counter.
Link, which runs the UK's largest ATM network, says its app shows the location of all 62,500 of its ATMs, covering "virtually all" of the UK's cash machines.
And today it's launched an updated version which also lets you see Post Office branches that provide free cash withdrawals, deposits and balance checks at the counter. Before now, the app would only show the roughly 2,500 Post Office branches which have ATMs – but now around 10,000 of the 11,500 Post Office branches will be included.
The vast majority of UK high street banks allow their customers to access their usual bank account at post offices, meaning you can withdraw cash for free even if there isn't an ATM nearby.

How does the free cash withdrawal-finder work?
Link's ATM-finder tool is available both online and as an app, which is free to download on iOS and Android devices. Here's how to use it:
To find your nearest ATM or post office, simply search for a postcode or location, or use your current location on the app (to do this you may need to enable location permissions in your settings).
You'll need to select a filter to make sure you're shown Post Office branches as well as ATMs.
Check which are the free ATMs. You'll be shown an interactive map marking the nearest cashpoints and post offices.
They'll be marked with green dots for free ATMs and purple dots highlighting those which charge a fee, while Post Office branches are marked with red dots (if it's a post office with an ATM, it'll be marked with two symbols). If you click on a purple dot, you'll be told how much the machine charges.
You'll also be given a list of ATMs. You can click on an individual ATM, either on the list or the map, to get extra info about its functionality – for example, if it dispenses £5 notes or lets you manage your PIN.
If you're using the app, you can also get directions to your chosen cashpoint or Post Office branch. But it's worth noting that the app may record your location even when you're not using it, which can drain battery life.
