Asda is encouraging customers to pay for Christmas in one of the most expensive ways possible, by withdrawing cash on its credit card, which costs at least £5 a time.
Eight of the UK's biggest supermarket chains have agreed to fairer pricing policies, including not inflating prices to make a later discount look attractive. However, Asda is stalling.
Update, 28 Nov, 12pm: Sainsbury's has changed its mind and will now cut up to 3p per litre off petrol at all its forecourts tomorrow, although the cost of diesel will remain unchanged. Sainsbury's prices vary nationwide.
