If you go online to fashion retailer Boohoo*, you can get ‘up to 70% off’ selected items across women's clothing and 40% off most menswear, excluding sale and selected lines.

We've asked Boohoo when both sales will end but it hasn’t got back to us yet, so go quick if there's something you're after.

Boohoo has said customers now have 'twice as long' to return items, which means you'll have up to 56 days (originally 28 days).

Delivery's £4.99 and can take up to five days, maybe longer, depending on delivery demand at this time.

Boohoo 5% EXTRA off 'up to 80% off' sale

If you go online to fashion retailer Boohoo* you can get an extra 5% off already-reduced items in its ‘up to 80% off’ sale when you enter the code EXTRA5MSE at the checkout until 11.59pm on Fri 9 Aug. The sale will continue until Sun 11 Aug, but our blagged extra discount is only valid until Friday – so go quick if you’re planning to buy.

Boohoo has said with more than 10,000 items included, this is its biggest UK sale since February 2018. While not everything has the full 80% discount, and as it’s a sale stock is limited, we did find a wide selection of £5 dresses, £3 tops and £8 shoes when we looked on Tue 6 Aug. Delivery's £3.99 and can take up to five days.

Some strong examples we spotted using the code on Wed 7 Aug:
- Pink skinny square glasses* - 95p (was £1 reduced from £6)
- Boohoo flip flops* - £1.90 (was £2 reduced from £4)

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.

And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100.
