For your birthday via Burger King app

If you download the Burger King app (available for free on the App Store and Google Play) and register with its 'Your Burger King' loyalty scheme, you can get a voucher for a free Whopper or Plant-based Whopper burger (normally £6.29) on your birthday.

The voucher will appear in the 'Offers' tab and you can either add your free Whopper to your mobile order, or show the code at the front counter in a restaurant.

Burger King told us you'll need to add your date of birth within the account info section on the app at least seven days prior to your birthday in order to receive the freebie in time. You'll also need to opt in for email or push notifications to receive the voucher.

The voucher will be valid for 14 days from the date of your birthday. You cannot redeem the offer at Burger King motorway service locations, airports, train stations or holiday parks. See full T&Cs.

See our Burger King hacks guide for more ways to save when satisfying your burger fix.

If you're vegetarian, vegan, or have allergies or intolerances, it's important to note that the Plant-based Whopper is cooked on the same grill as meat Whoppers.

Burger King kids eat 'free'

Via Burger King app. When an adult buys a burger meal

If you order an adult burger meal via the Burger King app (available for free at the App Store or Google Play), kids can get a King Jr Meal for free (normally £3.99) during the Easter holidays.

This offer runs until closing time on Sunday 20 April. Burger King told us you'll need to find the offer within the app in order to redeem at the kiosk, till or through click & collect.

The King Jr Meal includes a main such as a cheeseburger, hamburger, chicken nuggets or vegan nuggets, a side of fries or apple slices, and a drink. The adult meal must be an adult burger meal (King Saver burgers and all Melts burgers are excluded from the offer).

This deal is limited to one free kids' meal per transaction.

How to find the offer in the app

To claim your free kids' meal, sign in to the app, go to the offers tab until you find the 'free kids King Jr Meal' offer. Select either 'add to order' and choose your nearest participating branch, or select 'use at restaurant'.

This offer is available at all restaurants, excluding train stations, airports, service stations and holiday parks.

FREE £6ish Burger King Whopper (including plant-based)

Via the Burger King app for one day only

Today only, Burger King is offering its Whopper burger (including plant-based) for FREE when you order via the Burger King app until 8pm, or while stock lasts. A Whopper burger normally costs £6.29 to £7.49 depending on the location.

This whopper of a deal is for new and existing app users and there's no minimum spend to get the free burger, though note this is the burger only and doesn't come as a meal with a side or drink – you'd need to pay extra if you want those. It's limited to one free Whopper per Burger King app account.

To claim the deal, sign in to the app, go to the 'Offers' tab and tap either 'add to mobile order' or 'redeem in restaurant'. You can then add the original Whopper or plant-based Whopper burger to your order. The freebie is available at all restaurants, excluding motorway services, airports and holiday parks – see 'More info' below for the full list.

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
What the * means above
If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
