Get six months free online keyboard or guitar video lessons (as well as play-along tutorials and work booklets) by following special links printed in the Telegraph (£2) this weekend.

The lessons are provided by interactive tutorial site Gigajam, which is used in over 1,000 schools in the UK (see some inspiring case studies) and by the London College of Music to award qualifications in music performance. You can start with the very basics or go straight to the more advanced stuff.

There's a massive 1,000 videos across 124 lessons, (30 for guitar, bass, keyboard and drums each, plus four music theory lessons) and 30 graded pieces of music to play - resulting in over 360 hours of learning per instrument.

Access to all this usually costs £4.99 a month, but you'll get six months free by following a special link, and you won't need to enter any bank details.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.

And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100.
