If you click a link with an * to go through to a provider, we may get paid. This usually only happens if you get a product from it. This is what funds our team of journalists, and keeps us free to use. Yet there are two crucial things you need to know about this.
- This never impacts our editorial recommendations – if it's in, it's in there because we independently rate it best.
- You'll always get as good a deal (or better) than if you went direct.

If you go online to Homebase you can browse its clearance section for bargains, with a mixture of small and large discounts on a selected range of power tools, DIY, home and garden items subject to stock. Delivery's £6, or free if you collect in a store (find your nearest).
As is the nature of a clearance, stock is limited, so you'll have to go quick if there's something you want. It's also worth checking if there's a clearance section in your local store, but obviously what's available will vary from place to place.

When Homebase was sold to Australian retailer Wesfarmers in 2016, it moved away from running regular offers. It now heavily promotes its commitment to 'Always low prices' instead.
So while you'll rarely find Homebase discount codes, and its 15% off bank holiday weekends are also a thing of the past, you could find Homebase is still the cheapest place to buy.
However, you should avoid just taking Homebase's word for it - do your own research and compare prices elsewhere before buying to ensure you really are getting the best value.

After seven years as somewhere to earn and spend Nectar points, Homebase left the rewards scheme in December 2016.
But while Homebase no longer accepts Nectar points, there are other home and DIY retailers - such as Argos, Dunelm and Laura Ashley - that do. See MSE's Loyalty Cards guide for tips on maxing your points.

There are always ways you can save money at Homebase, so even if there isn’t a cracking deal out there that works for you, don’t assume you can’t cut your costs.
Other ways to save money as a Homebase shopper include:
- Try haggling. We polled 1,400 MoneySavers to see in which shops they had most success haggling, and Homebase shoppers had a success rate of 68% - so it's always worth a go if you're feeling confident. Read our Haggle on the High Street guide for more haggling tips.
- Check similar retailers, eg, B&Q, Ikea, Habitat. If you're not committed to buying from John Lewis, check for deals from other department stores such as B&Q, Wickes, Ikea and Habitat, where you may find there's a better offer.
- Had a problem with Homebase? There’s a free online tool you can use to complain – it helps draft, manage and if necessary escalate your complaint. It’s offered by a firm called Resolver, which we like so much we work with it to help people get complaints justice – you can use it to complain to Homebase*.
If you spot any hot deals we've missed (we are human after all!), let us know in the MSE Forum, email us at msedeals@moneysavingexpert.com or via Twitter.
