  • 10mths Now TV Sky Sports Pass for £179

10mths Now TV Sky Sports Pass for £179

    Equiv £17.90/mth. Norm £33.99/mth.

If you want all 10 Sky Sports channels and can forgo HD, Now TV's streaming service is cheaper than Sky TV. New and existing Now TV customers can get a 10 month Sky Sports Pass for £179 -  almost half the usual price and cheaper than Sky's add-ons, plus there's no need for a digital TV box. Full analysis in 'more info' below.

    How to get it:

    1. Go via Now TV*, until 11.59pm on Mon 20 Aug. Once on the offer page, you can either add the 'Sky Sports Season Ticket' to a new Now TV account or sign in to your existing one.

    2. Once purchased, the pass will be automatically activated and applied to your account immediately.

WARNING: Unless you cancel before the 10 months is up, you’ll be charged £33.99/mth as it will automatically renew. It’s easy to cancel – just go to the ‘My Passes’ section of your account, and click the cancel button on the pass. You can watch Now TV for the remainder of the 10 months you signed up for even after you’ve cancelled, but won’t be able to watch beyond the 10 months.

You can only have one Sky Sports Pass on your account at any time so, although existing Now TV customers can get this deal, you won't be able to if you have one already.

    • How good is this deal?

Now TV normally charges £340 for 10 months so this is over 45% off, though you’ll need to stump up the full £179 upfront.

As a comparison, the Sports add-ons via Sky TV start at £20/mth, on top of the basic package costs, so if you’re just interested in Sky Sports it’s a decent deal.

If your Sky Sports TV package is on a 31-day rolling contract or you're beyond your minimum term contract you can switch to Now TV by giving a month's notice, though you'll lose the Sky Q features for Sport, including recording and watching in HD.

      What is Now TV?

Now TV is a streaming service owned by Sky that gives you access to Sky channels on PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones and some smart TVs, or via streaming devices such as Chromecasts and Now TV (and some other) set-top boxes or sticks.

You'll get access to all 10 Sky Sports channels, including Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event, so you'll get to see the entire Premier League season, the remainder of the F1 season and India's cricket tour of England.

Now TV doesn't offer full HD, only 720p definition - which is somewhere between standard definition and full HD. Although you can buy a Now TV stick or box, you don't necessarily need one to watch on a TV, as if you've an HD TV you can connect to a laptop via HDMI, Chromecast or Apple TV (if you've an Apple device that's compatible). • Sky Sports full package £150 for 9mths and you don't need a Sky box (equiv £16.67/mth)

Sky Sports full package £150 for 9mths and you don't need a Sky box (equiv £16.67/mth)

Via Now TV. For new and existing customers

If you want Sky Sports and are willing to stream it, Now TV offers a cheap alternative to Sky TV. Until 11.59pm on Sun 25 March, new and existing Now TV customers can sign up to nine months of its Sky Sports Pass for £150. That's less than half the normal price of this Now TV package (£306), and roughly 40% cheaper than the standard price for the Sky Sports pack on Sky TV.

Important: Now TV has branded this as a Formula 1 season pass, however it's the same thing - and gives you full access to all 10 Sky Sports channels. You will see this before you sign up.

    How to get it:

    1. Go via Now TV*, until 11.59pm on Sun 25 March. Once on the offer page, choose to sign up for a new Now TV account or sign in to your existing account.

    2. Once purchased, the pass will be applied to your account automatically, and will activate immediately.

IMPORTANT: Unless you cancel before the nine months is up, you’ll be charged £33.99/mth after the pass expires as it will automatically renew. It’s easy to cancel – just go to the ‘My Passes’ section of your account, and click the cancel button on the pass. You can watch Now TV for the remainder of the nine months you signed up for even after you’ve cancelled, but won’t be able to watch beyond the nine months.

While existing Now TV customers can get this deal, you won't be able to if you already have a Sky Sports Pass stored in your account.

    How good is this deal?

Now TV normally charges £306 for its nine-month pass, so this is over 50% off - it works out at the equivalent of £16.67/mth. However you’ll need to stump up the full £150 upfront so you’ll need that cash available.

If you currently have the Sky Sports TV package, aren't locked into a long contract and are willing to switch to streaming, this could be a good way to slash what you pay each month. The standard price of the full Sky Sports add-on if you're not on a promo deal is £27.50/mth - so if you switch to Now TV you could save almost 40%.

If your Sky Sports TV package is on a 31-day rolling contract or you're beyond your minimum term contract you can switch to Now TV by giving a month's notice. Be aware if you do though you'll lose the Sky Q features for Sport including recording and watching in HD.

    What is Now TV?

Now TV is a streaming service owned by Sky that gives you access to Sky channels on PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones and some 'smart' TVs, or via streaming devices such as Chromecasts and Now TV (and some other) set-top boxes.

You'll get access to all ten Sky Sports channels, including Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event. So you'll get to see the rest of the Premier League season, every F1 Grand Prix and the New Zealand v England ODI and Test Series - though bear in mind if you're mainly interested in the football a decent chunk of the nine months you get will be taken up by the summer break.

Now TV doesn't offer full HD, but depending on your broadband connection speed you could get 720p definition - which is somewhere between standard definition and full HD.

Although you can buy a Now TV stick or box, you don't necessarily need one to watch on a TV, as if you've an HD TV you can connect to a laptop via HDMI, Chromecast or Apple TV (if you've an Apple device that's compatible). See the full list of supported devices.
