Got a parcel to send? Well, you may be able to send it for free via this £5 off code for newbies to Parcel2Go. It's a parcel delivery comparison website which bulk-buys postage slots from big delivery agencies, then sells them to the public.

Just enter the code OFFERFREE at Parcel2Go* to get £5 off deliveries anywhere in the world, to or from the UK. There’s no minimum spend so if delivery is £5 or under, it’ll be free.

There's no limit to the number of people who can use the code, but it's one per household. It’s valid till Sat 31 Oct for delivery anywhere, from Tunbridge Wells to Timbuktu. Prices are listed without VAT, so factor that in.

Who delivers my parcel?

Couriers Parcel2Go lists include: MyHermes, Hermes, Collect+, Parcelforce, Yodel, UPS, TNT & more. You’ll be able to choose which courier you want to use before you confirm delivery.

You get the same service as if you went direct via the courier. However, it’s Parcel2Go that will deal with enquiries and sort out compensation claims. If the difference is only a few pennies, it may be better to go with an established company.

  Parcel2Go includes a standard level of compensation with every parcel, which is up to £20 or £50 depending on the courier. If your parcel is worth more than £50 you can take out extra cover. But you can’t use the £5 off code to get a discount on the cover, you’ll need to pay for it separately.
  
  The price you pay does not include any duties, customs or taxes that the delivery may incur. The code is not valid on parcels sent between foreign countries.
  
  If you're sending more than one parcel to the same address, the £5 discount will apply to both parcels. However, if you're sending more than one parcel to different addresses the discount will only apply to the cheapest parcel.
  
  Can’t be used with other offers.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.

And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100.
