Including Playstation Store sales dates, price trackers, digital keys vs physical games & more

A PlayStation 5 (PS5) isn't cheap, but it can open up a universe of fun for gamers. What's less fun is paying premium prices for games, when there's almost always a way of getting them for less. MSE Rob's guide shows you how to find PS5 games on the cheap, including:

PS5 Cyber Monday deals still going strong*

PS5 Digital Edition for £270, Disc Edition for £355

With Black Friday winding down into Cyber Monday, some of the best offers from the sales period are still available courtesy of an ongoing 20% discount code at ShopTo's Ebay store that sticks with an already steep discount.

The best deals tend to come with a game or two (usually worth about £30-£40) bundled in, so try to work out the value proposition of those bundles (especially as you can sell the games on).

Here are the best PS5 Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals so far:

PS5 DIGITAL EDITION
The PS5 Digital Edition doesn't have a disc drive, so you're restricted to buying games from its digital storefront, the Playstation Store (though buying this edition with the separate £70 disc drive works out cheaper than the best deals we've found for the Disc Edition so far).

Playstation 5 Digital Edition (825GB) – £269.99 (was £429.99) at ShopTo via eBay using coupon code BLACKFRI20.

Playstation 5 Digital Edition (825GB) bundle with extra DualSense controller* – £334.99 (was £469.99) at Playstation Direct. Potentially £318.24 with Playstation Plus subscription (which is required for online gaming, and we also have deals for). You can also subscribe to the cheapest PS Plus tier (PS Plus Essential: £6.99/month) then just cancel your subscription.

PLAYSTATION 5 DISC EDITION
The PS5 Disc Edition lets you play Blu-Rays and physical games, and has a slightly larger hard drive than most Digital Editions, which usually come with 825GB.

Playstation 5 Disc Edition (1TB) – £354.99 (was £479.99) at ShopTo via eBay using coupon code BLACKFRI20.

Playstation 5 Disc Edition (1TB) bundle with EA Sports FC 26 and Dragon Age: The Veilguard* – £379.99 (was £479.99). Go to Special Offers on the item description page to claim Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Potentially £360 using the following steps (shoutout to HotUKDeals for discovering this!):

  1. Buy an Argos eGift Card worth £375 for £360 via Lebara Rewards (4% off)

  2. Sign up to the Argos newsletter for a £5 off £40 spend voucher.

  3. At the Argos checkout, use the £5 voucher and £375 eGift card to pay for the bundle.

PLAYSTATION 5 PRO
A more powerful, upgraded version of the Playstation 5 that lets you play the same games at higher frame rates and resolutions (in other words, a smoother, crisper on-screen image).

This version comes with a larger 2TB hard drive, but note that it does not come with a disc drive, which you need to buy separately. The cheapest we saw the PS5 Digital Edition on Black Friday last year was £650.

Playstation 5 Pro (2TB) – £559.99 (was £699.99) at Costco

Playstation 5 Pro (2TB) bundle with EA Sports FC 26 – £569.99 (was £699.99) at Smyths Toys

Playstation 5 Digital Edition (825GB) with EA Sports FC 26 bundle* – £285 (was £429.99) at EE Tech & Gaming OUT OF STOCK

Playstation 5 Disc Edition (1TB) with NBA 2K26 bundle* – £373 (was £479.99) at EE Tech & Gaming OUT OF STOCK

PLAYSTATION PLUS SUBSCRIPTIONS
Sony is also offering up to 33% discounts on all tiers of Playstation Plus, its gaming subscription service. For a breakdown of what you get with each tier and what (in our opinion) represents the best value, see our cheap PS5 gaming guide.

To get bigger discounts on Playstation Plus (or anything else you might want to buy in the Playstation Store), you can buy Playstation Store gift cards that are up to around 15% cheaper than their Playstation Store value. For example:

Important: Don’t allow yourself to be taken in by the hype around Black Friday and be sucked into buying something you don’t need or can’t afford. Always do your own price comparisons to ensure you are getting the best deal possible – don’t just take a retailer’s word for it.

See our Black Friday 2025 guide for all our analysis. Check Deals & Vouchers for the latest offers on now.

MSE Rob says:

The Black Friday PS5 deals have been a pleasant surprise, especially considering the console's price hike earlier this year. The bundles generally offer the best value, and if you don't want whatever sports game they chuck in there with the console, you can still flog the game for £25-£30 or so.

I ALWAYS suggest getting a PS5 with a disc drive (or buy it separately for £70 for the Digital Edition*), because this gives you access to competitively priced physical games, game rental services, and the option to buy and sell second-hand (see my cheap PS5 gaming guide for why a disc drive will save you money in the long run).

Best PS5 games for under £10 (60-80% off) on Black Friday

Eg, Lego Harry Potter for £4, The Witcher 3 for £7

Of all the consoles, the Playstation 5 has had some of the best Black Friday hardware deals of the lot, but what of the games?

Well, there are many steeply discounted ones out there, so to narrow the scope of our recommendations, we're going to focus on PS5 games that have been discounted to under £10. There are hundreds to choose from, so have a browse in the Playstation Store yourself if you don't find what you want below (we've added the 'under £10' filters for you).

Here are some of the best PS5 games discounted to under £10 (all at 60-80% off). They've been picked out by our resident games geek, MSE Rob, to represent a mix of genres, blockbusters, and indie games.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.

If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links.
