Once you've ordered your experience, you'll receive a voucher pack in the post. It will cost £2.49 for standard delivery to post the voucher pack to you. If you choose recorded, special or Sat Special Delivery it will cost more - see delivery details for the full info.

With some experiences you may have the option to pick an e-voucher - this means it sends the voucher to your email instead of by post for free. Once you have the voucher you'll need to activate it online and it'll then give you a phone number to book.

The expiry is usually around 9 months, but it can vary so make sure you check the voucher. There may be a book-by date as well as an expiry so be aware of this. Also make sure you check what dates/time its valid as these might be restricted.

  Instead of booking online, you can call 0844 504 0844 and mention the code over the phone - although it will charge.
  
  One code per order, but you can add multiple valid experiences to the check out and the code will work on all of them. Valid on Virgin Experience Days website only.
  
  If you change your mind, you can get a refund, but you must return it within 14 days of receiving the pack - although you won't get a refund on the delivery charge and you will have to pay postage to return the pack (it recommends special delivery as you won't get your money back unless it receives it).

  Make sure you book your experience well in advance for the best availability. Some experiences may be subject to weather conditions - in these cases, call up the venue before you leave on the day to confirm the event.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.

And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100.
