First Utility is the latest energy company to face a backlash from disgruntled customers over unresolved complaints and long call waiting times. But it's admitted it's at fault and says it's investing £20 million to improve its customer services.
The MSE collective energy switch has become the UK’s biggest ever collective switch, dwarfing all previous efforts with nearly 60,000 people taking out one of the four tariffs, collectively saving £10 million on their energy bills.
Npower has been told by Ofgem it must meet strict targets to fix billing problems and to improve its complaints procedure or face a curb on sales, after it sent ex-customers huge bills months and in some cases over a year after they'd left the firm.
It should take as little as 17 days to switch gas and electricity supplier, after regulator Ofgem backed plans to make changing energy company easier and quicker.
