Air fryers, allotments & armchairs – this week's MSE Forum highlights
This week on the MSE Forum we've heard from MoneySavers pondering purchasing decisions of all sizes, from air fryers to armchairs and dehumidifiers to cars. Read on for more of the latest highlights from our online community.

A few of this week's top threads
These are some of the Forum discussions that caught our eye this week:
Do you feel you get a fair deal from supermarket loyalty schemes?
I'm back in the job market for the first time in decades. Help!
Where can I buy a small armchair that will fit in to a restricted space?
What sort of dehumidifier should I go for: desiccant or condenser?
Money Moral Dilemma
Every week, the Money Tips email features a real-life Money Moral Dilemma (MMD for short). They're intended to encourage debate and, as such, they're usually among the most discussed threads each week.
Would I be stealing my brother's inheritance by caring for our mum?
My mum's 85 and needs looking after, and I want her to live with me and my husband. We've agreed that we'll sell our house and she'll sell hers so we can afford one with an annex. She's also going to change her will, so that when she dies my brother can't make us sell the house - instead he'd get half of the rest of her assets. On the one hand, I feel like I'm stealing his inheritance, but on the other, I'm prepared to give up my job to look after our mum... (and I'm mindful that if she went into a home, there'd likely be no money left for either of us anyway).
See what our MSE Forumites had to say and add your own thoughts on the Money Moral Dilemma discussion thread. Do please stick to the MSE Forum rules: keep it kind and keep it clean. Remember, there's a real person behind every dilemma.

Photo of the week
One of our volunteer Forum Ambassadors – sarah1972 – shared this snap of their Halloween-themed allotment scarecrow. We'd love to see any spooky craft items you've produced, particularly if there's a MoneySaving twist.
Please note: We love seeing your photos in the MSE Forum, but if you're uploading one, make sure it doesn't include any personally-identifiable information such as your face or address.
Latest comping wins
Our competitions community has had some good wins this week. Charl2802 is "absolutely buzzing" to have won £2,000 to spend on DFS furniture. Heli2412 only returned to comping a mere three weeks ago and is now looking forward to a P&O mini cruise with £200 to spend. And zilg42 is £500 better off after winning a Lidl x Hits competition.
Take a look at the Competitions time boards to see which prizes could be yours.
Your two cents
Did you know that the MSE Forum offers a host of badges to recognise MoneySaving milestones and contributions to our community? It's now easier than ever to request a badge, as MSE_Stephen explains.
We're also looking forward to seeing how participants in this year's Sealed Pot Challenge have got on as they prepare to unseal their jars in the week ahead. If this savings idea sounds like it would help you prepare for Christmas 2025, look out for the 18th edition of the challenge which will be appearing soon.
