Making choices for the long term has been one of this week's themes on the MSE Forum. Let's explore some of this week's highlights from our MoneySaving community.

A few of this week's top threads

These are some of the Forum discussions that caught our eye this week:

Money Moral Dilemma

Every week, the Money Tips email features a real-life Money Moral Dilemma (MMD for short). They're intended to encourage debate and, as such, they're usually among the most discussed threads each week.

Should we leave our house solely to our youngest daughter?

My husband and I own our own home outright and we've four grown-up children. One is single and has his own house, two are married and live in rented accommodation, and the youngest lives with us as she has additional needs. I'm sure our three older children will be fine as they've already got property or strong relationships, but the youngest will always need help and somewhere safe to live, so should we leave our house solely to her in our wills?

See what our MSE Forumites had to say and add your own thoughts on the Money Moral Dilemma discussion thread. Do please stick to the MSE Forum rules: keep it kind and keep it clean. Remember, there's a real person behind every dilemma.

Photo of the week

Forumite -taff shared this pic of two ornamental garden planters they'd got for free via Facebook. What's the best secondhand freebie you've obtained?

Latest comping wins

Normanprice234 was bowled over to win a year's worth of family tickets to Hollywood Bowl. Meanwhile huxleypig is eagerly waiting to hear how much they've won in an Easter cash giveaway - it could be £20, £5,000 or somewhere in between. Check out Competitions Time for the latest comps.

Your two cents

We love the reusing and repurposing thread that Elisheba started this week. In their words:

"I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread on tips and tricks people have found to reuse and repurpose all the things in our lives that have come to the end of their first life, and would otherwise be chucked in recycling/bin."

They added: "So I thought here we could all contribute all our tips and tricks for reusing our old stuff. Nothing is too basic or simple - what might seem as clear as day to you, somebody somewhere won't have thought of yet.

"Ideally they will be ideas that won't cost a fortune in buying new stuff to make happen, but sometimes a few pennies spent will mean a whole new life for an item so don't be afraid to suggest ideas that might need a little investment."

Some great ideas have already been shared – and we'd love to hear your suggestions too.
