Money Moral Dilemma

Every week, the Money Tips email features a real-life Money Moral Dilemma (MMD for short). They're intended to encourage debate and, as such, they're usually among the most discussed threads each week.

Should I replace my son's Pokémon encyclopaedia that I gave away?

As our kids are getting older, we had a massive clear out of toys, clothes and books that they no longer use. I asked my son, aged nine, to go through them and pull out anything he wanted to keep, but rather than checking, he said he knew there was nothing he wanted. One of the things I gave away was his Pokémon encyclopaedia, which it turns out he still liked and used, so he's very sad. Should I replace it, or is this the right time for him to learn a lesson?

It's been a good week for chocoholic123: "I’ve been entering competitions since 2017 and have won a few nice small prizes over the years, but I’d never won anything big, until now. I won the McVitie’s / Heart FM gaming bundle ... I was a bit taken aback when they called, but I’ve won a Meta Quest Mixed Reality Headset, a projector, some headphones, and a voucher for games! I can’t wait to try the Meta Quest and have already been planning which games to play.
