Money Moral Dilemma

Every week, the Money Tips email features a real-life Money Moral Dilemma (MMD for short). They're intended to encourage debate and, as such, they're usually among the most discussed threads each week.

Is it OK to use our learning-disabled daughter's money to support her son?

Our adult daughter has a learning disability, so I help manage her bank account and benefits (with her agreement). Over time, her balance has built up. We've also raised her son, who she was not able to cope with. He's now 17 and wants nothing to do with her. We're living on State Pension and benefits, and - given his age - we can no longer claim benefits for his support. He's waiting to go to university, and I'm thinking about using our daughter's money to support him until then. I'm sure she'd agree if I suggested it, but I don't want to take advantage of her.

Latest comping wins

Congratulations to new comper Yoyoyo5 who this week reported: "I started entering competitions less than two weeks ago and had my first win five days in!

"I'm recovering from cancer treatment and I have found entering competitions has been really positive helping to get my brain into gear again and it is also a lovely distraction to hopefully have a nice prize arrive in the post rather than another hospital letter 😊."

In this week's Forum poll we're asking: 'What kind of tech do you tend to use when buying something on the internet (as opposed to just day-to-day browsing)?'

There's been a meme doing the rounds for a while about millennials preferring to make big online purchases using a laptop instead of a smartphone.

Is it a sense of accuracy and security from using a physical keyboard? Perhaps the bigger screen makes it easier to see pictures or read vital information? Maybe it's just the comfort of pre-touchscreen nostalgia?
