Plus some long-haul deals, such as London to New York £407 return

Airline British Airways has launched its Black Friday sale, with various offers on flights and holidays. The sale runs until 11.59pm on Monday 2 December.

Just like last year, it's advertising flights from London to Europe from £39 each way, and we've spotted some flights that are cheaper still.

If you're planning a European city break, you can get three nights for the price of two on selected holiday packages. The deal's valid for travel between now and Friday 31 January 2025, and includes destinations such as Athens, Barcelona, Budapest, Rome, Stockholm, Vienna and others.

BA is also offering up to £300 off holidays for travel completed between Sunday 1 December 2024 and Friday 31 October 2025. Be warned though – the minimum spends required are high – £50 off when you spend £1,250, £100 off £2,500, £200 off £5,000 and £300 off £10,000.

In addition, we spotted some deals on long-haul flights, such as London to New York return flights for £407 in September. These could be well worth a look if you're planning a big trip, though it's worth noting this deal isn't anywhere near as strong as in 2022, when British Airways offered return flights to the USA for £299, including New York and Boston.

Here are some examples of cheap European flights we spotted on Tuesday 26 November:

• Heathrow to Barcelona, one-way, February – from £35

• Heathrow to Nice, one-way, March – from £39

• Heathrow to Copenhagen, one-way, March – from £45

• Gatwick to Bordeaux, one-way, February – from £47

Last year we spotted even cheaper, eg, London to Barcelona £66 return

Airline British Airways offered various Black Friday deals last year, up until 11.59pm on Monday 27 November.

Although it advertised flights to Europe 'from £39 each way' last year, we saw some deals that were slightly cheaper when we looked on the Thursday prior to Black Friday.

It also offered a £1-per-leg deal on checked luggage if you flew from London Gatwick to Europe midweek. Additionally, it offered three nights for the price of two on its city break holidays.

Here are some examples we spotted last year:

• London Heathrow to Barcelona – from £65.99 for a return journey

• London Heathrow to Paris – from £80.09 for a return journey

• London Heathrow to Athens – from £98.69 for a return journey

The year before that, in 2022, British Airways offered return flights to the USA for £299, including New York and Boston. Sadly, we didn't any similar deals in 2023.
