EXPIRED: FREE Ben & Jerry's ice cream scoops

Once a year, Ben & Jerry’s gives out free ice cream cones at selected stores – it’s something of a tradition for die-hard ice cream fans – though sadly, the number of stores participating has decreased massively over the last few years, and only five are taking part this year, meaning many are frozen out this time around.

On Tuesday 8 April from midday to 8pm, you can get a TOTALLY FREE scoop of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream (normally about £5) if you visit one of these participating Ben & Jerry's stores:

• Edinburgh – 4 Castle Street

• London Soho – 74 Wardour Street

• Newquay – 8 Central Square

• Norwich – 110 Chantry Place Shopping Centre

• Windsor – 12 Peascod Street

When we checked, only these five stores were participating, but you can also check your nearest store – make sure the ‘Participate Free Cone Day’ box is ticked.

Just turn up between midday and 8pm (some store times vary) and ask for your free cone – there's no code or voucher needed.

It’s one scoop per cone, and you can choose any flavour, such as Cookie Dough, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Phish Food, or Sweet Mango Memories. There may be long queues so be prepared to wait for your freebie.

Ben & Jerry's says you're welcome to grab a scoop and join the queue again (and again) if you're after another free scoop – but please eat responsibly.
