If you click a link with an * to go through to a provider, we may get paid. This usually only happens if you get a product from it. This is what funds our team of journalists, and keeps us free to use. Yet there are two crucial things you need to know about this.
- This never impacts our editorial recommendations – if it's in, it's in there because we independently rate it best.
- You'll always get as good a deal (or better) than if you went direct.

If you're a regular Parkrunner you'll know that it's a free and friendly event at many locations in England and Wales at 9am on Saturday mornings (9.30am in Scotland) – but did you know there's a Parkrun at The Eden Project?
As Parkrun is based on the ethos that everyone should be able to participate, it's always free – which means if you run your Parkrun at Eden you'll be able to enjoy the facilities including the café and biomes after getting in your 5k morning run.

'Free' year's pass gets 2for1 at 400+ gardens
In £5.25 magazine. Including Eden Project and Kew Gardens
ExpiredThis popular deal is back... If you buy the May issue of BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine – £5.25, out now until Wed 29 May – you’ll get a card for 2for1 adult entry to 400+ UK gardens, valid until 10 Apr 2020.
There's a more expensive £6.99 version of the magazine which comes with gloves and seeds – see below for more info.
Once you've got the card, check it's valid on the day you want to visit (individual gardens may have excluded dates) and then simply turn up with the card at any of the gardens listed. For more days out and activities, see our Cheap Days Out round-up.
You can use the 2for1 card as many times as you like, but even if you visited just one garden costing more than £5.25, which most gardens we found were, it's worth buying the magazine if you're going to be visiting with someone else.
One of the biggest savings is a 2for1 at Eden Project in Cornwall (pictured above), which normally costs up to £27.50 for a full-price adult ticket on the day. Some of the other gardens in the offer include:
- Kew Gardens, London - norm up to £18
- Leeds Castle, Kent - norm up to £26
- Shakespeare Family Homes, Stratford-upon-Avon - norm up to £22.50
- Brodie Castle, Moray - norm up to £20
- Sudeley Castle Gardens, Gloucestershire - norm up to £16.75
- Powis Castle & Garden, Powys - norm up to £15
If you’re taking kids it’s important to note that while this is 2for1 on two adult tickets, BBC Gardeners' World says it's down to the individual garden if it’ll accept a child as the second ticketholder, so before you make the trip, it’s worth asking those gardens that charge a significant amount for kids’ tickets.
Going on your own? Get up to 50% off
Over 150 of these gardens also give up to 50% off adult individual tickets with the same card – see the magazine guide or Gardeners' World website for details.
Get gloves and seeds too with £6.99 mag
There will also be a more expensive bumper version of the same magazine out at M&S, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Waitrose and WHSmith high street stores (dependent on stock). You'll get the 2for1 gardens pass plus on the cover you'll find gloves suitable for weeding and planting, which Gardeners' World says are worth £3.99, and six packets of seeds it says are worth £16.45.
