Game Black Friday offers
Most prices cheaper or the same elsewhere
ExpiredConsole and games retailer Game has previously been a big player on Black Friday, however for several years all of the products we saw were the same price or cheaper elsewhere – hammering home that it's important to compare prices before buying, and yet again we're not seeing much difference in prices.
This year, as in other years, it's touting 'up to 50% off' in its Black Friday sale, but we've taken a look to see if the deals stack up.
Examples of discounts we spotted at 10.59am on Friday 25 November:
- Nintendo Switch lite (turquoise) – £199 at Game. CHEAPER at Amazon*, £183 (yellow)
- Nintendo Switch OLED (red/blue) – £309.99. CHEAPER for £299.99 at John Lewis*. Better value to get a game bundle.
- Xbox Series S – £199.99. CHEAPER for £189 at Amazon*.
- Xbox Series X – £369.99. CHEAPER at Amazon*, Very and Currys*, £359.
- PS5 – £389.99 however it is pushing a deal on buy now pay later for £349.99. It's important to understand that this is debt, and if you do not pay everything off within the three month time frame you will pay 39.9% interest on the balance, which could end up costing you substantially more than the initial £40 saving. Game Black Friday offers
Most prices cheaper elsewhere. £20 voucher if you spend £100
ExpiredConsole and games retailer Game* has previously been a big player on Black Friday, however for several years all of the products we saw were the same price or cheaper elsewhere – hammering home that it's important to compare prices before buying, and it's looking to be similar again this year.
This year we've seen much of the same, with prices being beaten elsewhere. However, if you're spending £100 or more on toys, board games, software and gaming accessories (including pre-owned software and gaming accessories), you'll receive a £20 voucher. It works on both online and in-store purchases until Wednesday 30 November. If you've bought in store the voucher will be on your receipt, and if online you'll be sent an email with it.
We've also seem some other Game offers, for example, a free £10 gift card with selected purchases, but do check if this is worth potentially paying more upfront.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100.
